A leak of water, it is anticipated.

Classical leak cause: a defective seal! So, it is better to replace as much as possible its joints with joints by "brazed" (welded) fittings. For those who subsist, their plumber is required to use tethered joints rather than Teflon. In case of absence, even for 2 days, it is thought to close the general water shut-off valve (many insurances have a clause excluding guarantees if they have been absent for more than 3 or 4 days without closing tap).

I'm watching.

With an "intelligent" housing that detects abnormal water consumption and warns remotely via the smartphone. Our favorite: the Oplug system which regularly informs about water consumption and illico alert in case of problem (189 € case laying, 0.97 € / month subscription). And you can even opt for the Ostop box, which allows you to cut water from a distance. For more information: societeberthelot.com

I have a water leak, what do I do?

Immediately close the general water shut-off valve (check that the handle is not blocked). Then, the leak must be sealed with a silicone tape which immediately self-fuses with the support (Extrem tape, 9,90 € per 3 m roll), or a special micro-leakage paste (11 € 2, Atmos, in large DIY stores).
