For many things in everyday life, women work at heart. Added to that, a good dose of pragmatism, that's how women choose their car.

Exterior design, interior layout and practicality of the vehicle, it takes less time for a woman than a man to choose his car!

Pierre Chasseray, general delegate of the association 40 million motorists , evokes the 3 main criteria on which women are based to choose their car.

Criterion 1: the design of the car
When choosing their new car, women are turning more to a vehicle model than to a color or type of engine. Unlike men who are interested in mechanical aspects, women are more attracted to the overall silhouette of the car. Among the models of cars that work well in women, we obviously find the Mini Cooper, the Fiat 500 or Newbeattle who have more feminine cuts.

Criterion 2: the internal arrangement of the car
Women may be concerned about the outside of their car, they do not forget the interior layout. They always go to cars that meet their needs: they make sure they have enough space for the car seat for children or for races, for example. The practical aspect of the car is more important for women than for men who respond more to a logic of road behavior (what use? Highway, city etc.).

Criterion 3: security that brings the car
Unexpectedly, when choosing their car, more and more women are opting for high-end vehicles like SUVs. The fact of being raised on the road reassures especially the women who make a lot of kilometers. As for safety, men are more likely to rely on the Euro NCAP classification.

Finally, the price and the color are not among the criteria that women follow when choosing their car.
- The price is not a specific man / woman since we choose above all the car that we can afford. The budget envelope concerns both men and women.
- The color between less and less at stake in the choice of his car: there is a standardization of colors in the automotive market. Among the most common car colors are white, black, gray and red. Citroën and its DS3 however have turned the codes with rather daring colors that appeal to women (white body and pink roof for example).
