Jacques Villeneuve has criticised Sergio Perez's driving at the Belgian Grand Prix, describing his move on Esteban Ocon as "dirty".

The Mexican's lap 29 collision with Force India teammate Esteban Ocon at Spa was "ridiculous", according to the former Formula 1 star.

Perez squeezed Ocon against the support race pitwall on the run to Eau Rouge, with the ensuing clash causing front wing damage to the Frenchman's car and leaving Perez with a puncture.

That incident was the second time the teammates had collided on the run to Eau Rouge, although they escaped any damage after the first contact.

Ocon later said on social media: "We were having a good race until Perez tried to kill me two times."

Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion, told Autosport Perez "was to blame 100%" for the 180mph incident.

"It doesn't matter that it's his team-mate," he said.

"Team-mate, no team-mate, it should not have happened between two drivers.

"You're not so supposed to put anyone in danger.

"You can brake too late, make a mistake, fine, but down the straight you don't weave and squish, you just don't do that. It's ridiculous.

"A piece of carbon went outside of the track. You can hurt someone from the public. This has to be stopped.

"That kind of move from Perez is not racing, it's pure blocking.

"You don't do that. It's aggressive. It's dirty."

The stewards decided not to take action after investigating Sunday's incident.
