"Always do better than necessary. "This is the motto that has been driving Maison Piaget since 1874 and its obsession with excellence. An artisanal culture born at 1000 meters altitude, in a small hamlet in the Swiss Jura with the dreamy name: Côte-aux-Fées . Here Georges Edouard Piaget-only then â ge of 19, set up his studio. His vocation? Making components and movements of high precision, essential elements for the manufacture of watches. An art of which he makes a specialty, his talent quickly starting to radiate beyond his isolated village and to supply the prestigious Swiss watchmakers.



An ambitious history of time


Having become the creator of pocket watches and luxury wristwatches under the impetus of the following generations, Piaget became in the 1940s a registered trademark, perpetuating a family know-how based on a quest for constant innovation. With ultrafin for signature, the watchmaker seduced by its revolutionary concepts, initiating manual windings and automatic movements the world 's thinnest on a background of racy aesthetics. At the height of the 60s , Piaget is a reference in luxury men's watchmaking, but not only.



Needles and jewelry

After having finalized his conquest of time, these are the gems that Piaget will take over, with in 1959 the presentation of his first jewelry creations in Geneva, alongside his most elegant watches. A masterstroke that will symbolize a new identity stage in the history of the house while perpetuating this will of transcendence initiated by the founder. "Doing what has never been done before," was the directive given at the time by Valentin Piaget, 3rd of the name, to the designers of the house. These will allow the launch of the first gemstone watches in 1963, followed closely by the famous " 21st Century Collection". Enough to attract an exceptional clientele, Piaget is among its customers Jacke Kennedy , Elizabeth Taylor or Sophia Loren. The watchmaker will even weave creative connections with great contemporary artists, including Salvador Dali in 1967.  


A jewel named Possession



The 1990s sign the renewal of the house. Piaget launches a new line of jewels as playful as refined : the Possession collection. Presented each year in new versions, the pieces of the spring-summer 2018 edition take on a digital dimension alongside an IRL event in the air.
