The opportunity for some to come to admire the works of these artists, and for others to be tempted by a drawing by their favorite tattoo artist.

Prepare your skin for a tattoo

If one often thinks about the tattoo session itself - will I get hurt or turn a blind eye to the sight of the needle - one must also remember that it is crucial to prepare one's skin for to be tattooed, just as it is important to help him heal after the tattoo session.

Reason, tattoo artist, date: before D-Day, there are simple instructions to respect and good gestures to adopt to best prepare his skin to go under the dermograph.

Rule number 1: You do not expose the tattooing area one to two weeks before your appointment at the tattoo parlor to avoid any sunburn that would weaken the skin, and make any tattoo impossible.

We avoid damaging the epidermis, so we do not make scrubs on the area to tattoo in the days before the session.

On the contrary, you hydrate the area to tattoo with a good moisturizer .

How to take care of my new tattoo?

When you leave the tattoo parlor, make sure to keep your dressing at least 6 hours, to prevent dust or bacteria seep into the wound.

During the first weeks, you clean your tattoo two to three times a day, all without rubbing. We use a neutral pH soap, anti-bacterial and fragrance-free, without directly exposing the area to the water jet: it is preferable that the water slides on the tattoo indirectly. Baths, trips to the pool and the sea are forbidden until the wound has healed.

You wipe your wet skin by tapping with a clean towel or paper towel until the area is completely dry, to prevent the accumulation of germs.

In a second time, we think to moisturize his tattoo once or twice a day for the pattern to keep its color. Massaging a cream of the type Bepanthene or Cicatryl in a reasonable amount - there must be no excess cream.

The ideal: a repairing and healing product that will repair the skin after tattooing. In the meantime, we absolutely avoid exposure to the sun by protecting its precious design with a fabric.

Tattooed skin: a sun protection SPF 50 obligatory

In the first three months, any exposure of the tattoo to the sun is prohibited. After this period, in case of exposure to the sun, and even if one has the matte skin, a sun cream 50 index is mandatory! Tattooed skin is more sensitive to UV rays, which increases the risk of burns. Not to mention that the sun's rays discolour tattoos ...

So we slip into his bag a sunscreen (especially no oil!) The index is very high, or better, a sunscreen specifically designed for tattooed skin.
