We can be the king of kit furniture and have style! In June, Ikea proves that there is not only Slow Design in life by giving carte blanche to 6 creators. The challenge: customize parts of the brand to create an ephemeral collection called Stunsig. We reveal you our favorite articles!

How is the Ikea Stunsig collection?

100% creative. And inspired. Drawings in the naturalistic spirit, comics style, tile cement patterns, association of crazy images, art photos ... The style of each of the 6 artists who collaborated with Stunsig is well identifiable and is available on several pieces. Dishware in particular, since the collection includes mugs, plates and bowls, tray and trivet, but also linens with cushion covers and duvets, or carpets, stationery accessories. A rarity at Ikea, designers have also been able to put their mark on ready-to-wear. Each of them imagined a T-shirt and a tote bag, sold respectively at the price of € 9.99 and € 4.99.

Six artists, six original styles

  • Frédérique Vernillet draws inspiration from the wild world to create poetic motifs. Elegant pigeons on a tray and a plate, a monkey clutching bananas on a mug and a duvet cover and even a wolf ... We particularly like the pieces of this designer who has already collaborated with Aigle , Paul & Joe , between other.
  • Malcom Stuart uses the cartoon style to liven up green vegetables. Yes Yes. A street art kawaii side that gives pep to the decor.
  • The Pinar & Viola duo takes us into its dream world. The duo turquo-dutch has notably bet on the motive tile cement trend hyper. Of course, we love it.
  • Steve Harrington opts for pop patterns, a bit in the spirit toons, but in black and white, with a touch of light blue. For Ikea, the drawings are repeated and end up creating a pattern full of style.
  • Team Hawaii is not afraid of daring associations. A pear smoking a pipe from which escapes a fleur-de-lis? The Swedish duo made the incongruous collage his signature. Barré but also very poetic.
  • Tilde Bay hijacks the photographs. The surface of a body of water creates a hyper-canonical pattern on bowls, plates and notebooks. A cactus still in its mound adorns a cushion cover and a tray. We admire the style of the artist, known for his work with the singer Lady Gaga .
