Who said that libido decreased with age? Certainly not we or the research team at the University of Guelph who just published the results of a study on the effects of age on sex life, in association with the Council of Education and Information Sexuality of Canada (SIECCAN).

To achieve this result, the researchers took a panel of 2400 people between 40 and 59 years. They found that 75% of respondents had (at least) had sex in the last 12 months, and 71% in the last six. Researchers also note that age "spoils" antics: 63% of respondents admit to wanting to try "new things" over time.

It should also be noted that 2/3 of the panel say they are "happy" or "very happy" about their sex life. The head of the research team was keen to nuance the results by arguing that the "sexual liberation" of his later years also influenced the data, as did the trivialization of different practices (as with the buzz around 50 shades of Gray for example).
