Shock for James McAvoy: his half brother Donald McAvoy was sentenced to nine years in prison after kidnapping a father.

The 'split' actor himself never met his brother, who is the son of his father James McAvoy Sr. Now, however, he had to learn that together with 30-year-old Stephen Killen, he locked a man named Zahid Sattar in a car in April and then drove around for two hours. The criminal duo claimed the equivalent of 5,600 euros in drug money outstanding. The 39-year-old victim is quoted by The Sun newspaper as saying, "McAvoy was crazy. I thought I was going to die. I thought that was the end of me and that they were killing me because they couldn't get the money that my friend owed them. " He insists on his innocence in the case: "I have nothing to do with drugs, but it changed my life forever."

At the moment, Sattar had to take 21 different medicines. He thinks it is questionable whether he would ever get over the incident: "I can't go out myself and I don't know if I will ever recover. I can't believe that people who were my friends did it should." Killen was also sentenced to 27 months in prison for kidnapping, claims for money, racist behavior and assault. The brutal scene portrays the victim as follows: "McAvoy stared at me all the time and didn't stop. Killen called me a 'black bastard' all the time [...] [He] kept beating me, so that I was covered in blood. I just wanted it to be over. "
